afci/gfi

If you need the protection of both for most or all of the circuit, several manufacturers make combination AFCI/GFCI (for people) breakers. Cutler Hammer comes to mind right away.

Poor design? From what I've been reading about the 2008 NEC changes it's going to be a common occurence for the S/A and bath circuits. Or am i missing something?

For a wet bar i see no other way.If perhaps its a tap off bedroom to feed an outdoor receptacle there is a way.All i am saying is when it goes dead we have a very confused homeowner that will not know what to do.

Give them my phone number! If they are that stupid I'll reset both the gfi and afci for them , and only charge them for one service call. No problem.
I guess now we need to protect the home owner from there own inablity to push a button.:grin:
 
I tried to eliminate those stupid reset service calls awhile back.I gave the girls in the office a kind of check list to go through with the homeowners.Is the breaker tripped? Is the gfci tripped ?How to reset instructions etc It didn`t lake a bit of difference.What did help was telling the homeowner if we came out there and found a tripped gfci device we would charge them a service fee.That did help out alot.90 % said I`ll call you back and never did :)
