This is the third job where new copy/scan machines don't play nice with the AFCI.

Oddly enough, the first job was Siemens, second was CH, and today's job was a Square D QO, so I covered some different manufacturers. All three were 20amp circuits dedicated to receptacles within the office.

Are there any work arounds for the future? ;) Any possibility of adding an exception to the code for the next cycle of semi-permanent home offices (built in desks)? All three jobs were attic conversions, so I understand the future possibility of someone changing the home office in to a playroom/bedroom/nursery, but with built in countertops and book shelves, it makes it a bit more permanent.

You can always write a proposal but I doubt it will get anywhere. Try using ferrite filters.

Perhaps I should state that if all items have been checked then contact the manufacturer and ask them for their advice. I have used a different generation afci that worked when others didn't but the last time they sent me ferrite filters which worked like a charm when we had trouble with TV's. I guess you should make sure these are okay to use with scanners and make sure you gte the ones they suggest. IMO, I would go with a different afci first.
