AFCI protection

Does convenience receptacles and planter lighting on the roof of a private residential building need AFCI protection? This is in New York City. Thank you.

I don't think outside receptacle need AFCI protection.

AFCI protection not required, but if connected to a circuit that also supplies interior items that do require protection - it will inherently have protection also.
