I searched the forum and did not come up with an answer, so I am posting this question.

One of my students told me tonight that he installed a Leviton receptacle AFCI device last week.

I google Leviton and searched their site without suitable results.

Has anyone seen one of these devices????

There is no company with a UL Listing under the category "Arc-fault Circuit Interrupters, Outlet Circuit Type" (AWCG) and the only listings under "Arc-fault Circuit Interrupters, Combination Type" (AWAH), which are permitted to be made in an "outlet type" are Eaton, Siemens, Square D and GE.

I heard a story back when AFCI protection first came about that P&S actually had developed an AFCI receptacle. However, the only made a limited number at the time, and were using them for R&D as well as listing purposes.

By the time they got them made, the requirement changed from "receptacle outlets" to "circuits", so they dropped them and concentrated on AFCI breakers.

Whether or not they still exist, I don't know. But if they do, they certainly would not meet the combination requirement of the '08.

I'm sure you can find anything if you "believe" enough.
