Has anyone used a AFCI tester?
Fox has the AF1000 tester, UL listing pending.
Greenlee has a new AFCI UL listed tester. Ideal is releasing their new tester May 5.
I have used one of the Fox AFCI testers, does both AFCI and GFCI.
The Etcon tester has been recalled, and was not an AFCI tester.

Re: AFCI Testers

From what I understand, (I may be wrong) to test an arc fault may require a minimum of 75 amp arc verses a 5 milliamp leak for a GFCI tester. I don't know if this something I want to hold in my hand! Isn't the test button on the device itself sufficent for the terst?

Re: AFCI Testers

I install 28 AFCI's in a rewired dormatory about at the turn of ther new year. The campus maint. crew performed a panel sch. check to verify accurate installation etc. BUT they used a GFIC recepticle tester on the branch circuits feed from the load side of the SIEMENS AFCI OCPD and i replaced three already. I wonder why seimens does not make a AFCI tester? I saw the greenlee teste, any one know the best way to get one? Please advise THANX. PLF

Re: AFCI Testers

The Greenlee tester is made by Fox.
Ideal has one as well. All three test AFCI's and GFCI's.
