AFCI testers

Are there any test sets available that will test a range of AFCI’s or are they all manufacturer specific units?

If a universal test set is available:
A/ how useful is it for tracing a fault?
B/ does it just give a pass/fail or a value that can be recorded?

Any information will be very much appreciated.

There is no objective way to test AFCIs, each manufacturer just promises you they work.

There was a thread on this subject not too long ago, do a search. Conclusion was don't waste your time and money.
