AFCI Testing

I was installing,for the first time some, AFCI breakers on my recent job. When I tested the circuits with my wiggies. I was expecting the circuit to trip similar to a GFCI. It did not. Other than testing the trip button on the breaker, is there another testing device to check the operation of the breaker?

The only testing method recognized by UL is the button.
