AFCI tripping

Have scowered the past posts but have not found a good answer. I have three AFCI to lighting circuit that trip the instant I turn the light switch on. Incadesent bulbs, have one outlet on circuit that works fine. But the instant I turn on switch the AFCI trips. Tomorrow I am going to try and unscrew bulb and see what happens. Any Ideas? CH breakers. Thanks

I have seen certain bulbs cause problems and if these are Halo cans they have been notorious for problems with the sockets in certain situations. Obviously there is a problem in the lights or the wiring to the lights.

You don't have any neutrals tied together in the switches do you?

The first thing to figure out is if the breaker is trippping from an arc fault or from a short. Try a regular breaker and see what happens.

Neutral(s) to ground will trip an AFCI as well.

That is exactly what was going on!!
