Hello, I am sure this has been discussed before but i cannot locate the information in the archived newsletters. Do bedroom closets require AFCI protection at the lighting fixture outlet? thank you, thomasg

Technically, the closet is not a bedroom or part of a bedroom.

But it's faster just to include it. Any reason you have for not including on the bedroom circuit?

'99 code requires that only bedroom receptacles be AFCI protected; '02 code requires that all outlets (lights, smoke detectors, etc) be so protected.
