In a hotel/motel where there a couple of units that have "kitchenetts"= kitchen, bathroom, and the bedrooms are common rooms; Are AFCI Breakers required for these "bedrooms"? The other units in this hotel just have a bathroom and 1 or 2 bedrooms (common rooms) Are AFCI Breakers required or not? The units with just the bath and bedrooms are not dwelling units as per code.

Re: AFCI

I feel it is the intent of the code that if a hotel or motel room can be defined as a dwelling unit per Article 100 Definitions, then AFCI protection would be required for the sleeping room area.
