AFCI's in commercial buildings

I just did an inspection in a commercial remodel and nearly the entire panel was AFCI'ed. I cannot find any requirement for AFCI's in a commercial application (except Dormitories). The contractor said the architect required them. Is there some 2014 NEC or IBC requirement I am not aware of. Thanx:huh:

They are not required in "commercial" per the 2014 (210.12)-but what kind of "commercial" development are we talking about? Does it have any provisions like the art 100 definition of dwelling?

Commercial Bulding

It is a type VB with sprinklers. It will be an office space. It has wooden ceiling which is why the architect designated AFCI's but I cannot find a code requiring it. I am in Georgia so I checked the amendments and there none for this.

And those sprinklers combined with pipe and wire or mc cable methods and a competent EC is and would be a much better investment imo towards safety/preventing property damage from any electrical fire than afcis. Certainly no rule against having them when not needed though- just feel its a waste.
