Section 210.12B of the 2008 NEC list additional AFCI rrequirements. The catch is "Similar rooms or areas", which leaves an open area to my way of thinking. Are they required in the utility room or attic? This particular house has a freezer, utiliry sink, ironing board, SMC, fan & lights in the utility room !
