New to me customer with a large indoor riding/roping arena. Think barrel racing and calf roping size, without bleachers. Previous electrician wired it in NM cable. Nice looking job (Ignore the 2 - 200 amp services at opposite ends of the building with the bottom of the panels being at +6' above the ground) My original thought was this should have been in UF cable. Now I am not so sure. It is obviously not used to house or feed any animals and I have seen many homes with more s____ er stuff on the floor. Neither 547.1(A) or (B) seem to apply. What type of building is it?

I actually worked on one home that had a Corrosive Atmosphere but I digress.

I likely would not have used NM cable, but would not loose any sleep over the fact it is there either.

How about the milking parlor in a dairy barn? The cows are not housed in that area, but are there frequently for milking, or a vet room or other area where they are not normally there for very long.

I can't tell you how I'd wire it but we've used everything from pvc coated rigid to pvc to emt with set screw fittings in ag buildings. The same with boxes, used just about every type, it really depends on location. I haven't done one in UF/Romex though.
