I installed 3 air curtains at a business. These air curtains came with a door plunger switch to turn the air curtain on when the door is open.
The plunger switch is mounted on the door frame which is steel framed, and operates at line voltage.
Nothing in the instructions say anything about bonding the door frame. My thinking is that if something happened and the metal frame became energized due to the switch there would be no way for the fault current to return to the source and trip the OCPD.
Any thoughts? I might go ahead and install a bonding strap between the door frame and the air curtain for peace of mind.
