With #2 AL Xhhw conductor is good for how many amps on a service conductor ? Also what size is needed for a 200amp service conductor feeding 2 100amp panels to each condo unit?

it is "good for" the same number of amps as in any other use. however there is some dispensation given for some service conductor applications where the ampacity is not required to meet 100% of the calculated load.

you pretty much have to start with the calculated load and work from there.

#2 aluminum is good for 90 amps, but with 310.15 b7 allows us on residential to run conductors at 83% capacity (as long as it serves the entire load of the dwelling) which means you could run wire rated at 83 amps and up. Which also means that 0000 aluminum is good for a 200 amp residential service even though it's only rated for 180 amps because... 200 x .83= 166 so the minimum circuit ampacity for a 200 amp residential service is 166 amps... always remember the main load calc comes into play as obviously your wire must be big enough for the max load
