One of our electricians told me the sum of breakers can not be more than 150% of the disconnecting means. He didn't have the Code reference but he said he's always been aware of the restriction. Can someone help me and tell me where it is in the NEC?

There is no 150% limit so there is no code reference. Just for clarity are you asking about more than one service disconnect?

The way I read it, I think he’s being told that that the sum of the amp rating of all breakers in a panel can’t exceed 150% of the main. The answer is still “no”.
