Sorry, left camera at home....so, I'm a doofus. And I couldn't get a good angle on it. One of the problems. I had to lean in to shoot it.

To the left you can see the edge of the door to the furnace closet. To the right you can see the edge of the furnace. Not much wider than the disco.

Homeowner says a retired electrician she knew said she needed to install a new circuit to this furnace and install a 90 amp breaker, he had put a 60 amp breaker on the circuit cause the old 90 amp got cooked and that's all the wire would support.

Here's the layout:

*Furnace disco (below) fed from 200 amp split buss panel.
*Mains have five 2 poles and two single poles installed.
*AC circuit (30 amp) is fed from the lighting main section fed by 50 amp.
*Furnace disco fed by #2 SE, AL.
*Disco has 100 amp fuses
*The wires leaving the disco lugs are #6 THHN. They terminate in two furnace disconnects supplied with furnace (60 amp each)

Furnace listing is......
Two circuits, #6 copper.
Max OCPD: ckt. 1, 60 amp. ckt. 2, 50 amp.

I sketched this out and gave to one of our apprentices to see how many NEC violations he could list.

Let's help him out. Just for fun.
