A friend of mine is asking if he can bond the cold water pipe with Aluminum wire.
The cold water pipe is 250 ft. away and he said that copper is out of the question.

Does anyone know the code section?

I invite your Thoughts.
Thanks.

At 250' aluminum would be much cheaper than copper even when you need to go one size larger.

You can use aluminum for your GEC just have to make sure it is more than 18" above bare ground where you attach to your water line.

I must have lost my reply question asking about an Aluminum GEC needing to be 18" above the grade if the bond is made inside a structure. Is this a violation? What Section of 250 does this apply?
