A customer is trying to get new insurance on his house, the insurance company sent an inspector in to inspect the house. He recommended changing out the aluminum conductors for the clothes dryer and the hvac.
Is this code or just a recommendation?
I would prefer to change it out, but the customer is not willing.

Just a recommendation, and one I don't share. Using aluminum for those circuits is still compliant today.

In sizes larger than #10, aluminum hasn't statistically been more of an issue than copper in most wiring.
