So the VE we are working up for CU to Al says to use hypress lugs. Curious as to why they mention "hypress lugs". Would copper use different lugs? Mechanical?
Also, I believe switchgear comes with the lugs already installed, whether installing on the wire or terminating to a lug on the gear it wouldn't make a difference I believe. Thanks.

For aluminum Hypress compression lugs make the best connection to the aluminum. Typically the two aren't interchangeable on large conductors so you would need to specify the conductor type. Our switchgear comes with whatever lugs we order it with otherwise it comes with no lugs.

Isn't Hypress just a brand name of a more or less generic compression lug? I usually use Panduit because we get a much better deal on them, but I don't see anything about them that would make them any better than any other listed compression connector.
