What do you guys think about the new aluminum stabiloy conductors? I have heard alot of good about it but still a little worried about using AL as feeders or continous loads such as heat or motors. Also, what size is the smallest they make? I hear the wire is

Much lighter in weight
Much lower in cost
Offers equivalent torque retention
Greater flexibility
Reduced springback make? :-?

Thanks guys

For GEC's or feeders I see no problem with aluminum. For smaller branch circuits I would prefer copper. On aluminum feeders that we install the engineers usually spec. crimp on connections like the one shown in the photo which eliminates any potential problems associated with expansion and contraction within mechanical pressure connectors.
