Hello,
Trying to figure what size wire is needed for a 400a top fed meter main combo.
From everything I've researched it looks like 500-500-350 aluminum wire is this correct?
Kind of confused because the power company looks like they used a smaller gauge wire, 4/0 ground and not sure on size of other feeders, in the same panel but bottom fed.
Any and all info is greatly appreciated"
Let me be crystal clear not my first panel I have done, I've been doing electrical for 15 years.
THIS IS THE FIRST 400A RESIDENTIAL METER MAIN THAT HAS A TOP FED THAT I HAVE DONE
done a bunch of 200a and more than a handful of 400a meter main with dual 200a main breakers that have been bottom fed and the power company provided wire and termination for the bottom underground stuff.
Any way since it is top fed I do have to provide cable and terminate connections on line side.
Been doing solar and property management ti and trouble shooting and fixing for the last 5 years so I'm a little rusty on wire size,
From what I saw 500-500-35 is what I need?
