Question for the pool guys on here
Customer has a nice in ground pool that at one time was heated with hydronic solar panels on top of a guest house, a ways away from the pump house and pool.
The solar panels broke long ago and were bypassed (pool just was unheated) however the plumbing still is there.
Now they wanted to heat the pool again and got a heatpump water-heater installed at the guest house where the solar panels were.
I can wire the heatpump into the panel at the guest house but the feeder to to pool pump house is a different 30A feeder, so there would be no #8 bond from the heat pump to the pool pump .
There is a large lug on the heatpump for the pool bond so the mfr intends for it to be bonded.

I am thinking per 680.26(B)(6) I also need to run a #8 all the way to the pool pump house.
Which will involve cutting concrete and a trench, disturbing landscaping etc.
Typically all the pool equipment is in the same building so this is kinda a odd case.
Am I reading 680.26(B) right?
Thanks

Did you note 680.26(B)(6)(b) ?
I could be mistaken but I don't feel the presence of a lug necessitate bonding.
Did the water heater instructions provide any guidance ?
