Am I required to provide a disconnecting means for a voltage regulator?

I can not find any requirement to provide a disconnecting means within sight of a voltage regulator. I really do not want there to be one but I would like to be sure before inspection not after.

What I have is a 208Y/120 volt 800 amp voltage regulator located outside, I had not planed on providing a disconnecting means within sight on either the supply or the load side of this unit.

I would just like to make sure I am not missing something that will bite me in the rear later.

Is there a lockable means that is permanent at the overcurrent device disconnecting means?

Yes, there is a 800 amp fused disconnect supplying the unit. The disconnect is located inside while the VR is located outside.

That said I still do not know of any specific requirement for a line side disconnecting means.

This unit is essentially like a fancy transformer.:)
