Looking for some sort of anchor or stud that can be shot into either existing Q deck or concrete slab ceiling that allows threaded rod to be installed into it.

Can anyone help?

Right, got it. Would need a rod coupling for this one correct? Also, could not use that with a Hilti gun would need Dewalt? Don't most guys use Hilti?
Yes you would use a rod coupling. I'm not sure if those are brand agnostic. If I had to guess I would assume that you probably need to use the ones made by the brand of the gun. Whoever makes the gun will make a similar anchor.

Don't get hung up on trade slang that not everybody will understand. You are talking about a powder actuated fastening tool and a rotary hammer drill. Hilti makes both and there are many manufacturers besides Dewalt who make rotary hammer drills.

I believe the concern is interchangeability: will one brand's studs/anchors it another brand's actuator?
Why would you use specific Hilti components with another manufacturers tools??

That said, any anchor that requires a hole to be drilled certainly can be drilled with any drill. However, what you are looking at is a system by Hilti that drills the hole and sets the anchor. Whether or not the contractor wants to invest the $$$$ for Hilti tools over using drop-in anchors from Hilti or Powers and whatever hammer drills they have is up to them. Nothing against Hilti, they are the Rolls Royce of tools.

I would not specify anything beyond generic anchors and leave how to do it up to the contractor.
