We have a new rectifier to hookup in our Anodize area . 100 amps at 480V on the nameplate .669.5 says branch circuit conductors SHALL have a ampacity of not less than 125% of the total connected load . ( 100 amps x 125% = 125 amps ) Do we also have to up the size of the breaker that feeds this ????? This is not a continuous load ..

The rectifier does not determine the load; the load does. If this is a new rectifier for an existing load, and does not increase the load current, the existing circuit should suffice.

I believe the breaker need not be rated at 125%.
