Seems Leviton is at it again. Introducing the Decora Edge. Wago goes backstab. What do you think?

-Hal
I'm OK with it but leviton costs me 3 bucks more for resi outlets than P and S so not really a savings. I wouldn't mind troubleshooting off those outlets though.

I think that’s pretty awesome. If i were in the production homebuilding segment I’d take a serious look. I would not be surprised if we get a CR version, and if so, I’m very interested in it.

That was my thinking, more DIY products.
Why would this be any more DIY than existing products? You still have to be able to strip wire correctly.

Wago style wire clamp terminations have been available for 40 years, when will our industry stop equating them with back stabbing up that has been around for more than 60 years?

From what local inspectors are telling me, residential new construction isn’t far off from DIY. I look at these and see labor efficiency.

We won’t how well they work or don’t for many years. But Leviton generally makes good products.

I wasn't referring to Wago, or that style connector. I was referring to Leviton making another product like their load center where owners can change their own breaker.

Is there a.problem with a home owner swapping out a bad breaker? Not every electrical repair, including swapping out a breaker, requires a $300 service call from a guy with an attitude.

Appears you might have an attitude. No one said there was anything wrong with it, just that Leviton seems to be making products for that reason.

I've seen many Hubbell products, generally some of the highest quality you can buy, use Wagos internally for wire connections.

P&S also makes their Plugtail stuff with Wagos, although they are the push in type, not the lever type.

The Leviton product isn't much more than an integration of this concept. But this concept is better as it has the facility to pig tail the ground.

The plug tail is a good concept, but the cost too far outweighs the labor savings in all of our markets. We prefab our standard devices w/ pigtails and they are "plugged" in during field install. The other shops here that pre-fab are doing the same thing. P&S rep really pushed hard on me to try them but at $10/ea (recep & the tail), it doesn't make sense.

Hopefully an improvement over the old "backstab"
Looks like with these, removing the conductors will be more successful. With the old ones, I'd crack the plastic at least half the time trying to remove them (not a big loss considering how cheap they are).
