Ok one last receptacle question. I was told that the little tab on 15A and 20A receptacles used for feedthrough was designed to burn up and open the circuit when exceeding the maximum rated ampacity. I never heard of this before. Is this true?

Not true. Receptacle outlets are NOT overcurrent devices. They do not have components that serve this purpose. Anything that "burns up" on a receptacle would create a serious hazard.

It's funny but not true. It is not designed to be a fuse. but rather to connect the upper and lower receptacles. You break the tab when you want to have a half switched receptacle.

I tend to like using the word "pfifltriggi" in such circumstances. Nobody will know what it means, and nobody will be able to accuse me of using inappropriate language. Actually, until this moment, I only used it verbally, because I did not know how to spell it. ;)

Or if you wanted each one of the duplex to be on a seperate circuit. Ie...
One circuit supplies the upper, & 1 circuit supplies the lower (or left & right sides if mounted horizontally).

Actually pfifltriggi is a very common word. I use it all the time :D
The pfifltriggi (singular pfifltrig) have tapir-like heads (with a bulge at the back containing the brain) and frog-like bodies; they lean their elbows on the ground when at rest, and sometimes when working with their hands. Their movements are quick and insectlike. They are the builders and technicians of Malacandra. They build houses and gadgets thought up by the s?roni. They also are miners who especially like to dig up "sun's blood" or gold. They are the only species to wear a form of clothes and even wear goggles to protect their eyes.

Chris , the age is irrelevant , he (The Iceman), obviously enjoys reading books by C.S. Lewis and was informing us that the afforementioned word (pfifltriggi) is actually used somewhere . I'll admit to having read C.S. Lewis' book " The Chronicles' of Narnia " , does that make me a child ?
