I cant put my finger on the code reference that requires sealing locknuts or hubs on outdoor locations. anyone?

all that says is that it must be weatherproof as in 3 r etc . nothing about the loaction of openings above the bussing which is what all the inspectors require.

For enclosures in wet locations, raceways or cables entering above the level of uninsulated live parts shall use fittings listed for wet locations.

I see wet locations . what you mean by weatherproof???

thanks guys you are exactly correct thats what happens when you just grab the first code book you see like the 2002. the code changed to add that clarification in 2005 thx again
