Whatever the manufacture specs, is what I would go with otherwise you may end up compromising the inegrity of the lugs and buss bar.

There is one listed product by T&B called Kopper Shield, Burndys version is Penetrox E. Its a copper anti-sieze. I have used for years, its an excellent product. I use it on threads, connectors and conductors.

The two products I mentioned are listed for copper only. The gray penatrox (that I don't use) is for aluminum, and perhaps copper. The copper product is far better for copper. we use on high amperage 12 v connections on emergency vechicles and the overheating just goes away.

Tom,

Do you have a preference between the two? There's quite a difference in pricing!

Could you use Copper Coat in a pinch??

I have some copper coat gasket sealer left over from auto work.. Would you use that in a pinch??

It seems to me they are the same product. Plus there is a similar product used on mechnical fasteners.
But I use the Burndy as it comes is small bottle with a dispensor tip. The T&B is in a bottle with a brush " it gets home before you do" IE messy.
