This may be a little specialized for here, but thought I'd give it a shot.

i have an application where I am retrofitting an existing 4160V, 3500HP auto-transformer starter with an electronic soft start. i had selected a vendor based on preliminary drawings and quote. Problem is that because it's a retrofit, I need to have the incoming and outgoing conduits come up in one specific location, which was clearly and repeatedly stressed in spec and followups. of course, when the approval drawings arrive, the cable entrance was on the wrong side and they offer no other options . Oh, and the delivery time has gone out almost two months past original.

.......Sorry--I think I started venting a little there........

Anyway, I was recommended to look at Motortronics and they seem to have something that works for me--cost and delivery. But I'm not highly familiar with MV starters and them at all, so I'm looking to see if anyone has a little real world experience with them--quality, delivery promises, service, etc.

any info would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Not familar with the brand you mentioned, however Benshaw can manufacture to suit your needs. I did a large project a few years back using them and they built the gear to fit the conduit locations and existing bussing. The softstarts went on line without problems.

I used them a few times with 480 volt vfds and I have no complients. I can say their tech service has been very good for me. Stock and availability has been good. I think they are out of florida.
