Does anyone have experience with the Timberline Solar BIPV modules as both roofing material and PV? I've only read about it and have not run across it in the wild.

No direct experience with this specific product, but BIPV is generally a bad idea. You get an underperforming PV system due to heat buildup, the likelyhood of that exact product being available when you need a replacement tile is low, and you get a 20 year roof instead of a 30 or 50.

Many co.s have tried solar shingles and failed.
It ain't easy.

Wiring is a big problem.

So is output as it gets very hot attached directly to roof.

I will let someone else suffer the consequences and learn. If it works, I will pick it up.

I agree. Someone has a building where only BIPV would work due to roof loading. It's BIPV or no PV.
