I am running a power feed for a 100 amp subpanel to a garage approx 150 feet from the main residence. I will be using #2 CU THWN (4 wires)and the run, while being straight, goes over irregular land that changes elevation a few times a few feet at a time. Is there a flexible conduit that can be used for this or am I stuck making numerous bends in the PVC? I can encase the conduit in cement if needed.

What size pvc were you going to use??????? 1 1/2??
NMF is really diffucult to pull through especially a 150 ft. run....................... Go for the pvc

Madien,
Unless you are digging a "stepped" ditch, the PVC conduit will conform to the elevation changes without actually bending it.

thanks for the info guys, guess I will give it a go with the PVC and try to make the grade changes as gradual as possible. I was going to use 2" pvc, would the pull be terrible using 1 1/2"? I am going to pull 4 wires #2 cu since I have enough #2 wire to use it for the ground wire as well.

Maiden, 1&1/2" will work fine. You are allowed 7 #2's in 1&1/2" and 11 in 2"

HOWEVER, which ever size you choose, use a metalic 90 at the end you are going to pull from.

If you don't do as Rogger suggests, there is a good chance that your pulling rope will cut through the PVC 90.
If you use a metallic 90 and it is exposed or within 18" of grade it must be bonded. See 250.86 and its exceptions.

Re: any flexible conduit available comparable to SCH40?

that is a good tip..the last 90 will be 2' below ground and then stub up to the side of the building...what type of connector is used to put a metal 90 in between two straight pvc pieces? Also remeasured the distance today and I dont have enough extra #2 to use as a ground, so I will pull a bare #4..any problem having that metal 90 in there with the bare ground wire as far as electrolysis?
