I am bidding on a project for a commercial contractor who I have done a lot of work for in the past. The job is as follows. There is currently a 15,000 sq ft space with a 600A service. The existing service comes up the side of the building in (2) 4" PVC conduits, LB's into the back of a 600A CT cabinet with a main breaker. From the load side of the cabinet it branches to a 400A MB panel and a 200A MB panel. They are subdividing the space into 3 separate tenent spaces. There is very limited room outside the building where the current CT meter is located. Our propoal is to provide a 200A seperatly metered service to (1) of the new tenant spaces. My original idea was to propose to eliminate the 600A CT cabinet and install A 3 gang meter socket on the outside of the building with (3) 200A meters and breakers, Feed the new 200A service out of this, and refeed the existing panels from one of the breakers. The property owner will be receiving multiple quotes on this project and I want to be competetive. Does anyone agree with my idea or know of a more cost effective way to handle this?
