In 1920 President Calvin Coolidge got us out of the depression in just one year by slashing spending and lowering taxes.
On the contrary in 1930 the Keynesian, Franklin Roosevelt increased spending and the depression had not officially ended until the late 40's. In 1938 the architect of the "New Deal" threw his hands up in defeat and admitted the "New Deal" did not work.

Wikipedia does not quite agree with your assessment.
The recession lasted from January 1920 to July 1921, or 18 months, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research. Though long by modern standards, this was shorter than recessions from 1910-12 and 1913-1914 (24 and 23 months respectively) and significantly shorter than the Great Depression (43 months).[1]

The causes of the '20s problems were a little different than the '30s and definitely different than currently.

Edit: I don't claim to know the way out.
