NCCER's a joke
I took the NCCER about a year and a half ago when I moved to Louisiana, and it's not even in the same league as a state NEC licensing exam. Made it through the NCCER in less than 30 minutes; as I recall the only questions that made me take pause were about electric heat tracing installation practices.
Before working in LA, I had never even heard of this test. To me it's hard to believe that this is the standard being used as certification to determine whether or not an electrician is worth his salt (at least in the industrial field down here).
Has anyone seen this certification applied to anything but industrial electrical work, or have any thoughts about the adequacy of the NCCER?
