I have a little job that I'm going to do by myself. It's just replacing a dryer plug and the disconnect to the ac and adding one light.

I'm not sure what the law is where you are, but in MA I believe if you are a one man shop the prevailing wage does not apply.
I'm not sure how you could do a certified payroll when you are a sole proprietor.
You may only have to provide a statement from you, stating that you are a one man shop.

Are you on a salary? If so then it is really easy. PM me if you want. I think we have a form in Excel that we use that I can email you. We are on a HUD job now and they make us do them every Friday.

This over 20,000 and will take about 6 to 8 months to get done. Most of it is on the GC part. It is a HUD job o DB scale.

are doing this same task on every unit in a 40 unit building or something?

or is the entire job 20k, and your portion is the $500 worth of work you mentioned?

In New Jersey:

Q. Do owner/operators who perform covered work have to be included on certified payrolls?

A. Yes. The information required for owner/operators is the same as for employees, with no exceptions.

I submit certified payroll reports all the time. I fill out the form except the wages and hours and I simply write " Owner-Salary" in its place.
