Make sure that you hammer the Code.
As I remember, the standardized test was heavy on Code.
The business test has quite a few questions about payroll taxes and how they are figured if memory serves me.

Just make sure you have the correct books. The candidate bulletin you received from the exam provide will identify which edition of the NEC is being used for the exam. There are a few jurisdictions still referencing the 2002 NEC Exam # for some reason?

I believe the Business Exam still uses the Florida Contractors Reference Manual. Check for the correct edition.

Time management is everything. Pick out the key words and don't forget to use your index and table of contents. Skip the complicated questions and come back to them later. Don't overthink the questions or the answers. If and WHEN you find errors, do your best to ignore them and move on.

Get to the exam early. Don't drink the night before. Take some headache medicine and bring some gum or mints. Don't forget to breath normally. Relax.

Thanx for the info, I'm right on track then,I been hitting code hard and find my answers within 30-sec to 1.5 min tops on the difficult ones I'm kinda high strung and fast,,,lol.. I've always been a big code book person so the normal stuff is still memory too. I have memorized all the basic formulas, size, distance, load, fixed 'R' ,exact k, series, para circiuts, etc. For the word questions and tryed my best to remember and read all the theory I can. So now it's sounds as you guys are telling me I've pretty much been doing the right kinda studying. Thank's because I'm so in the dark on content that my mind is starting to get discouraged on trying to memorize everything and it's affecting my confidence. The business is a major insight ,thank you I will study those procedures. I really, very much appreciate your input guys hopefully I can start turning my mind to positive now and "RELAX"...

Tunny,
Take a deep breath and relax.
If you have done your homework and are a competent electrician, you will be just fine.
The worst scenario is to be so wound up that you freeze when test time comes.
One thing to watch out for:
Make sure that when you fill in the answer sheet, you get all your dots in the correct places. There would be nothing worse than to be off by one in the column and end up with several marks in the wrong place.
The easiest way I have found when taking these tests is to write the correct answer in the book next to the question and when you have finished, then mark your answer sheet. This will keep you from getting ahead of yourself.
Also, conventional wisdom seems to be that if you don't know the answer and can't make an educated guess, always pick #C.
When I took Mike Holt's review for the EC, John must have told us a hundred times to answer C in this situation.
Don't know why but it can't hurt.
I think that you will be pleasantly suprised at how much you really know and how easy the test will seem.
Good Luck.
