Applications NEC and Solenoid Pumps

Struggling to know if/how the NEC applies to solenoid pumps. I have one existing 120VAC circuit that needs to feed two solenoid driven pumps.

I don't see how 430 would apply as the pumps are not motors. The only issue I see so far is needing to switch the neutral as the area is in a C1D2.

I agree that a solenoid is not a motor.

fuel pumps is the only place I recall that neutrals have to be switched. I have often wondered why. Nothing obvious comes to mind.
Yes, that is the only one I can think of also. I assume to prevent any possible sparks when the dispenser is being worked on.
