Thank you Mike and all for this great web site.

My question is, I am a new apprentice and Mike you have so many books to select from. Which book would you recommend I start with?

thank you in advance for your assistance.

I would suggest an electrical theory book, and Mike Holt's Understanding the NEC.

If money is not an issue, I would invest in the whole library.

By the way, Mike is too busy to visit the site very often, maybe once a year. He has entrusted the moderators with the control of the forum. With all that said, the forum basically runs itself and doesn't need to be controlled much. There are many very knowledgeable people on this site who are willing to share their expertise with you just like Bryan just did.

Nafis, welcome to the forum. :D

The understanding of electrical theory is a must, as understanding why a wire heats up and why a light does not light or lights very dim will help in understanding why requirements are in the NEC as they are. If you can take a course at a local trade school it would go along way to help as you can get answer to questions as they pop up.
