As a contractor that needs to be competitive, I would like to find a course study for my apprentices. As an apprentice I went through the NJATC program, but am not union as a contractor. I've also seen a curriculum called ABC, but it didn't seem to be very user friendly. I would like to find something on-line if at all possible. Also we are based in Colorado if that helps.

IEC has remote training programs, also IEC has a chapter in New Castle CO. I'm in 2nd year in Colorado Springs and I think it is about as good as it can get for the $ and the fact that everyone is working full time. I am however bothered over my last test which I missed every box fill question :mad: but that would be another thread.

In the IEC program, do you have to be in a certain area for membership? I'm on the western slope, by Utah.

I'm not really sure but I know our class tapes go to at least one student in Grand Junction. And i'm pretty sure the students don't have to be connected to an EC. There are a few in our class that are still hoping to get their first apprentice job.... Also there is some good tuition help through Colorado Work Force where they will pay tuition, books, tools, some auto expenses, (if necessary), and some housing, (if necessary) for the first year. No qualifying for tuition and books, just ask for it and pass the class..... There are phone numbers online but i could shoot you some too..

Are you looking for an apprenticeship program for your employees or are you trying to do something in-house? If you are trying to do something in-house most likely you will not really have an approved program. If you are looking for an approved non-union program in your are I would call ABC in Grand Junction (10miles away) at 970-243-7950. I think ABC now offers some on-line training associated with their program.
