apprenticship

work in factory. they introduced mechatronics. live in michigan. have the apprentices working with machine repair half the time. will be required to get electrical journeymans license. say their hours count working with non electricians on non electrical jobs. how is this possible they say registered with d.o.l. for mechatronics so is o.k how do i stop this from continuing . any suggestions would be appreciated. thank you

In WA we have clear rules on how electrical trainees can get hours towards taking electrical test. Suggest you get a copy of appropiate rules. Here, our AHJ expects to see permits and inspections when electrical trainees/apprentices are working under supervision

in the construction field it was cut and dry. working in the factory is a whole different world. we also have rules and requirements and they are not following them.
