Appropriate use of Type 12 Enclosure

Merry Christmas

I was planning to call for disconnects with a type 12 enclosures inside of a lab building that's used for testing road construction materials such as asphalt, concrete, gravel, and soil. So it's a dirty lab. It's not dusty like a grain silo but much more than an typical office building. Does this sound like an appropriate use of a NEMA 12 enclosure? As opposed to just using a NEMA 1 Enclosure.

Thank you

It is a design decision. Realistically there is not all that much difference in cost between type 1 and type 12 enclosures.

Personally, I would be looking to reduce the need for extra disconnects.
