Approved Wiring or not- Existing Fan Coil Unit wiring

Ran across this situation. Replacing old Fan Coil Units (FCU) original wiring was per attached photo. The FCU has a removable cover which has been removed. Is this wiring acceptable to NEC? Drawing notes stated disconnect and reconnect wiring to new FCU. All load data is same old vs. new.

Is the wood surround part of the listing of the FCU? I strongly doubt it. 300.15(B) wouldn't kick in until you enter something that is actually part of the FCU or at very least a listed accessory item. 300.16(B) Bushing on end of raceway could be fine if conditions of 300.15(B) were met. Mostly see that on "bottomless" switchgear but doesn't neceasarily have to be limited to that sort of equipment.

I can only assume it was "approved" as part of the listing in original design. The additional pic better shows the new FCU internal equipment and the outer housing section.

The old wiring is not part of the utilization equipment and it is not a chapter 3 wiring method. So I conclude it does not meet code requirements.

OTOH, it is not unsafe and works just fine. If the wires coming up from the floor were NM it would be legal.
