As an inspector here in NJ I am inspecting my first home with arc fault breakers. They were not required in NJ until now (when the 2008 NEC was adopted). Can you install a GFCI receptacle on an AF circuit?
Example; the Living room is AF, can you put the outside GFCI receptacle on this circuit?
I know this may not be a code issue but I hate to see this become an issue on the final. And no the house did not fail for this issue.

Agreed, perfectly legal and functionally sound.

I like it better to install all WP receptacles on their own 20A circuit, but that's a design decision.

It should be avoided calling it "GFI" protection when it is less sensitive than the Class A GFCI intended for personnel protection of 4-6 mA.

It's more clear to call it "GFPE" when it is providing protection of wiring and equipment, such as the 50mA protection in AFCIs, IMO.

Edit to add: I realize it's nit picking, but a lot of people don't pick up on the difference, and using different terms casts light on that for the casual reader.

There is no reason to have issue in the final using both protections. in addition, unless the circuit is also used in the bedroom you can submit a RFI to the engineer in order to delete the AFCI in the living room and save $.
