Is there a problem with cutting the twisted neutral wire on a arc fault breaker to size so there is less access wire in the panel. The white wire that come twisted on the breaker.?? I was told not to shorten the wire but no reason was given.
I've heard that myth too, but I don't see any reason why it can't be cut. Length should not affect the function of the AFCI, as in some cases you need to splice on more wire and lengthen it just to reach the noodle bar.
