I have always used romex for new circuits with AFCI breakers, with relatively few nuisance trips using Siemens. (thankfully) Have you ran circuits in conduit with AFCI? work ok? Thanks. They are so sensitive.

I see it more as NM (Romex) having a lot more opportunities for a failure which creates an arc whose signature an AFCI can detect than wire in conduit, so more reason to use an AFCI device for circuits wired with NM. Nothing about wires in raceways, whether rigid or EMT, is more likely to trip an AFCI, IMHO.
