QAF is an AFCI breaker.I was wondering if anyone knows the difference between type QAF and QAF2 arc fault combination breakers?
QAF is an AFCI breaker.
QAF2 is an AFCI/GFCI breaker.
I believe I made an oops.So a QAF2 breaker would meet the GFCI requirements for a dishwasher in a dwelling?
I believe I made an oops.
QAF2 is simply a Combination-type AFCI breaker.
They do have AFCI/GFCI combo breakers of types: QFGA2/QFGAH2/HQFGA2
As best I can tell, the -2 model uses "New and improved electronics" among a couple other enhancements...I have AFCI breakers that are QAF type and they also say combination type.
Siemens uses that term also... for the AFCI/GFCI combo breakers. The QAF and QAF2 are not.Dual function is the term we should use, its what Sq D uses. A combination AFCI is the type required effective Jan 1, 2008 that replaced the branch circuit feeder type.
