Can a AFCI work with 3 home runs and 1 shared neutral?
No. Coupling in the cable will be a factor and non-code compliant even with extending one BC by using an AFCI receptacle. Avoid using MWBC circuits with today's code requirements. rbjCan a AFCI work with 3 home runs and 1 shared neutral?
So, you've got a three phase supply? 208 / 120?Can a AFCI work with 3 home runs and 1 shared neutral?
The GE circuitry that provides the arc fault detection and discrimination does not do any ground fault detection. The GE circuitry is PURELY arc fault detection and nothing else. The circuitry is designed to provide the arc fault protection by only examining the electrical activity on the "hot" conductor. The LOAD neutral isn't required for the GE AFCI to provide AFCI protection.GE archy's , for reasons i don't quite grasp or are unclear , operate differently , and have resulted in far less callbacks for us.
