We designed several bachelors enlisted quarters (BEQ) which is classified as dwelling units and specified arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCI) in the panelboards.

When the BEQ were occupied, the AFCI's tripped every now and then, mostly when some appliances like TV's are turned on.

Have anyone have similar experienced and how was it solved?

TV's especially the newer flat screen are a major pain for the afci's. This is common and the only way to deal with it is to try different generation breakers.

I was involved in the renovation of several BEQ buildings somewhat north of your location. None of them was classified as a dwelling unit, as none had permanent provisions for cooking in the individual living units. Are you certain that your buildings really were ?dwelling units??

Yes, we are sure they are dwelling units as they have permanent provisions for living, sleeping, cooking, and sanitation.
